Construction / Sustainability
The shoe’s construction is designed so that the model can be manufactured with fewer work steps. Care was taken to have as few seams as possible, also to ensure the shoes are easy to clean. For environmental reasons, a new construction was developed that requires less glue than conventional sneakers and can be manufactured using less material.
Certificates / Standards
In the area of standards and sustainability, VELT focuses on step-by-step, verifiable development. The materials used comply with EU directives and are REACH-compliant. The corresponding documentation is obtained from the manufacturers. This is supplemented by the vegan certification www.v-label.com as well as CO₂ calculation and reduction strategies in cooperation with www.climatepartner.com. This process is supported by external consulting partners such as Halbinsel Agency: www.halbinselagency.com
Production
The sneakers are manufactured in Portugal, in the region around Porto. The upper is sewn by hand, and the assembly also takes place largely manually. When sourcing, VELT attaches importance to obtaining materials from the region whenever possible, with the aim of reducing transport routes and maintaining local production structures.
