Construction / Sustainability
The shoe's construction is designed to allow the model to be manufactured with fewer work steps. Care was taken to have as few seams as possible, partly to make the shoes easy to clean. For environmental reasons, a new construction method was developed that requires less glue than conventional sneakers and can be produced using fewer materials.
Certificates / Standards
In terms of standards and sustainability, VELT is committed to gradual, verifiable development. The materials used comply with EU guidelines and are REACH-compliant. The corresponding documentation is obtained from the manufacturers. In addition, there is the vegan certification www.v-label.com as well as CO₂ calculation and reduction strategies in cooperation with www.climatepartner.com. This process is supported by external consulting partners such as Halbinsel Agency: www.halbinselagency.com
Manufacturing
The sneakers are manufactured in Portugal, in the region around Porto. The upper is hand-stitched, and the assembly is also largely performed manually. In sourcing, VELT prioritizes obtaining materials from the region whenever possible, with the goal of reducing transport routes and maintaining local production structures.
